Japan is currently facing the challenges such as continuous economic growth, environmental problems, falling birthrate and aging population, safety and security issues. Those are common concerns also for China and Korea. Establishing a useful and efficient national innovation policy is indispensable for solving those problems. This means that we need to reform our national innovation system.

EAIC would provide researchers and related specialists from those three countries with opportunities not only for exchanging and discussing their findings but also seeking for new model of a national innovation system collaboratively.

Taking EAIC 2008 opportunity, Korea, China and Japan will further strengthen their relationship and establish an East Asian regional innovation platform and promote the formation of the world's most advanced innovation system. We are planning to hold this conference on a regular basis.
